Smart Meter Calibration Procedures

9 min read

Procedures to calibrate revenue-grade meters and validate accuracy within ±1% tolerances.

Calibration Schedule

Joulepoint recommends annual calibration for public charging sites and biannual checks for high-throughput depots.

Record calibration certificates in the asset record. The CSMS stores digital copies and surfaces renewal reminders 30 days in advance.

Test Equipment and Setup

Use a class 0.2s reference meter and maintain ambient temperature between 20 °C and 30 °C during testing.

Verify phase sequence, current transformers, and neutral conductors before beginning the load test sequence.

Validation and Reporting

Execute three-point load tests at 10%, 50%, and 100% of rated current. Record readings within the calibration worksheet template provided in the partner portal.

Submit reports through the compliance API endpoint /v1/meters/calibration. The CSMS updates status from DUE to VALID once the report passes automated checks.
